What it does
Transcription that stays on the phone
Apple’s speech engine runs on your device whenever the language supports it. 38 recognition languages, from en-US and zh-CN to uk-UA and he-IL. The transcript is editable afterwards — fix a name, keep the rest.
Mark the moment while you talk
Tap the flag mid-recording and the waveform keeps a line there. Later, tap the line to jump straight back. No scrubbing through nine minutes to find the one sentence that mattered.
Time and place, filled in for you
Each recording is stamped with when and where. Nothing to name, nothing to tag — unless you want to, and then there are tags, stars and five moods.
A library you can actually search
Search across titles, transcripts and place names. Or browse by place, by calendar, by star, by tag. Sort by newest, by length, by word count.
Numbers, if you like numbers
Total recordings, total time, word count, current streak, the last seven days, and which weekdays you talk most. Plus your top places and mood breakdown.
Your audio is yours
Copy the text, share it, export TXT, export the audio file. Import audio from elsewhere. Everything sits in the Files app, so your own backup works the way you already back things up.

Pro, and only what Pro actually unlocks
Recording, transcription, markers, search, stats and export are all in the free app, with no limit on how much you record. Pro adds five things:

Pro is an annual subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase — your choice, both unlock the same five. The subscription renews within 24 hours of each period ending unless you cancel in your App Store settings; lifetime never renews. Restore purchase is available on any device you sign in with.
On privacy, plainly
Voice Studio has no account, no login and no server of ours. Your recordings and transcripts live in the app’s own storage on your device. Speech recognition runs on-device for the languages Apple supports on-device; for the remaining languages iOS sends the audio to Apple’s speech service to transcribe it — that path is Apple’s, not ours, and it is spelled out in the privacy policy.
Speaks your language
The interface is available in 19 languages. Transcription covers 38 recognition locales, including regional variants — en-GB and en-IN, es-MX and es-ES, zh-HK and yue-CN, pt-PT and pt-BR.
Questions people ask
Does it work without internet?
Recording, playback, markers, search, stats and export work offline. Transcription works offline too, for the languages Apple supports on-device. A handful of languages need a connection because iOS transcribes them on Apple’s servers.
Is there a limit on recording length or how many I keep?
No. That is true in the free app as well — it is not something Pro unlocks.
Can I keep recording with the screen locked?
Yes. If a call comes in the recording pauses — iOS hands the microphone to the phone app — and picks back up when you hang up.
How do I get my recordings out?
Export the audio file or a TXT of the transcript from any recording, or open the app’s folder in the Files app and take everything at once.
